Leaf litter is the secret ingredient of healthy bioactive setups. This Forest Floor Leaf Litter Mix provides organic cover, food for microfauna, and a natural look — just like the forest floor. Use it to finish off terrarium builds, feed isopods, or create micro-habitats for inverts and amphibians.

Each batch is hand-collected and inspected, then dried for storage. Simply rehydrate or use dry depending on your build style.

What it does:

• Food source for isopods and springtails
• Protects and moisturizes the substrate below
• Creates hiding spots for microfauna
• Gives enclosures a natural, woodland aesthetic

Best for:
Bioactive terrariums, isopod cultures, dart frog setups, paludarium land zones, millipedes, and invertebrate tubs.

• Quart bag – great for topping off smaller builds or refreshing cultures
• 2 Quart bag – ideal for larger enclosures or multiple isopod tubs

Usage notes:
You can use straight from the bag, but for amphibian or reptile enclosures it’s always good practice to bake or rehydrate with boiling water before use. Rotate fresh leaf litter every few weeks in active cultures.
